Catholic Schools Week is January 29th-February 4th

January 12, 2017
By Amanda McDonald

As we begin our annual observance of National Catholic Schools Week, we want to thank you for everything you have done over the past year to aid us in our mission at St. Mary’s Cathedral School.

This year’s theme – “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service” – highlights the fact that Catholic schools are not only communities themselves, but also part of larger communities like our parish, Diocese, and city of Amarillo.  With our strong focus on academic excellence, faith development and service, we prepare students to become community leaders in the future.

These elements set Catholic schools apart from other educational options.  They are why families, such as yourself, make sacrifices to provide your children with a Catholic education.

In our effort to thank you for all that you do for our school, we have minimized what we are asking our parents to bring or donate for the week to two items: ONE gently used stuffed animal and possibly a bottle of wine.

You will find attached our schedule of events for Catholic Schools Week.  We hope you will join us as we kick-off CSW with our annual WinterFest!  This will be an adult-only event full of food, fun, and fellowship.  If you will be unable to make the event, we ask that you donate a bottle of wine.

We are grateful every day for the teachers, staff, Board members, parents, volunteers, and parishioners  who make our school a success.  CSW is a good time for all of us to thank you for your dedication and service!
