Step-by-Step Admissions Process

Step 1: Fill out our online new student enrollment application.  It can be located here: https://www.stmarysamarillo.org/admissions/

Step 2: New Applicants in Grades K-5: Provide all needed transcripts and supporting documents (including standardized test scores and any IEPs) for review and placement. Parents are asked to request a copy of their student’s records in order to expedite this process. Additionally, any written documentation pertaining to educational, physical, or psychological evaluations or assessments as well as the required health records, medical insurance information, immunization records, birth certificate and dates of Baptism*, 1st Penance*, 1st Eucharist* is also needed.

(* = only needed from Catholic applicants)

Step 3: Arrange for a shadow day (entering grades Montessori – 5).  The classroom screening consists of a one-on-one meeting between the prospective student and his or her grade-level teacher. The admissions review is conducted by the Assistant Principal and Classroom Teacher.

Step 4: Upon acceptance, arrange for payment of tuition.

Option 1: Pay tuition in full. (then, skip to Step 6)

Option 2: If you need to spread out your payments or would like to be considered for financial assistance, you must complete the online FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment.

Step 5: Finalize your payment plan through FACTS.

Step 6: Enjoy the St. Mary’s Cathedral School experience!

Acceptance of new students is determined by space availability for each grade.  Waiting lists will be established when necessary.

Student Application Checklist

New Students Montessori-Grade 5:
        Prior to Admission:

Contact Assistant Principal, Lydia O’Rear at orear@stmarysamarillo.com or 806.376.9112.

If possible, visit the St. Mary’s Cathedral School Campus for a tour

Apply for admission & turn in all necessary paperwork for review

Set up appointment with respective grade level teacher for shadow day (Montessori-Grade 5)

If seeking tuition assistance, complete the FACTS Grant & Aid Tuition Assessment.

 

After Admission:

You will receive an acceptance letter that will include information about the following forms:

Catholic School Health Report Form

Insurance & Photo Release Form

Student Parent Handbook

Complete/Turn in Parish Verification form if requesting Catholic Rate of Tuition

Set up an appointment with the business manager to settle all tuition affairs

Purchase uniforms

Complete student emergency care form at front office
